Frequently Asked Questions
Beginning a healing journey can feel like a big step, and we want you to feel informed and at ease. Here are answers to some of the questions we're most often asked about Reiki, energy healing and your visit to The Orange Tree.
Q&A
What does Reiki actually feel like?
During a Reiki session, you'll remain fully clothed while lying comfortably on a treatment couch in a peaceful, relaxing environment. Using gentle hands-on or hands-above techniques, Reiki energy is channelled to encourage balance and support your body's natural healing processes. Every experience is unique, but many people report feeling deeply relaxed, warm, peaceful or emotionally lighter after a session.
What does Reiki actually feel like?
Yes. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy that is suitable for most people. It works alongside conventional medical care but is not intended to replace medical treatment or professional healthcare advice. Reiki simply supports your overall wellbeing by encouraging relaxation, reducing stress and helping to restore balance within the body and mind.
Is Reiki safe?
Briefly describe your degree and any other highlights about your studies you want to share. Be sure to include relevant skills you gained, accomplishments you achieved or milestones you reached during your education.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to fully relax. You will remain fully clothed throughout your Reiki treatment, and there's no need to bring any special equipment. The most important thing is that you feel warm, comfortable and at ease.
How many sessions do I need?
Everyone's healing journey is different. Some people feel the benefits after just one Reiki session, while others choose regular treatments to support ongoing wellbeing, manage stress or work through longer-term emotional or energetic imbalances. Reiki works well compounding 4 sessions spread out over the course of a month. You often then find you only desire a “top up” every few months or even years. During your first appointment, we'll discuss your intentions and create a plan that's right for you, with no pressure or obligation to book additional sessions.
Can Reiki help stress & anxiety
Many people seek Reiki for stress and anxiety because it promotes deep relaxation and helps calm the nervous system. While Reiki isn't a cure for anxiety or any medical condition, many clients report feeling more peaceful, grounded and emotionally balanced after treatment. It can be a valuable complementary therapy for anyone looking to reduce stress, improve emotional wellbeing and create space for rest and healing.
Can Reiki help with physical pain?
Many people choose Reiki to support them when they're living with physical pain or discomfort. Reiki promotes deep relaxation, which may help reduce muscle tension, ease stress and support the body's natural healing processes. Some clients report experiencing a reduction in pain, greater comfort and an improved sense of wellbeing following treatment.
